Welcome

Welcome to our practice!

The Practice provides a full diagnostic service including radiography, ultrasound scanning, Endoscopy and electrocardiography.

Medical care is underpinned by the use of a full range of modern orthodox treatments plus several complementary therapies.

We also offer a wide range of surgical procedures, including full dental care, backed up by the latest anaesthetic agents and equipment and full anaesthetic monitoring.

Two often-overlooked aspects of practice life underline our commitment to the care of patients.

Firstly continuing education with all vets regularly attending approved training courses and nurses encouraged to achieve NVQ status.

Secondly our full 24-hour emergency service provided at our own premises by our own Veterinary Surgeons 365 days a year, in a rota with another local practice.

We have computerised client records for swift access to patient details and fully itemised invoices.

Our Aims are
---------------------------------------------------------------------
To give a caring, friendly and sympathetic service - committed to our clients and their animals. To provide value for money and uphold our long-standing reputation for giving a first class service.

To provide the best possible veterinary treatment using the latest techniques, equipment and knowledge.

To provide a working atmosphere of such quality and enthusiasm that our clients look forward to visiting our clinic or seeking advice from any member of our staff.

To work as a loyal, happy team, mindful of one another, and so earning the appreciation and respect of colleagues and clients alike.

Type Of Work
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Practice is a Small (Companion) Animal Practice and is registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as an approved centre for the training of Veterinary Nurses.

Ken is our internal assessor, with our trainee nurses attending Berkshire Agricultural college, and other local colleges. We offer BSAVA approved modern facilities and treatment for all domestic pets - given in a caring and friendly manner to enable your pets to have a longer and happier life.

What is the B.S.A.V.A?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
The British Small Animal Veterinary Association (B.S.A.V.A) is a professional body that represents over 5,500 Veterinary Surgeons in the U.K.

It organises countrywide continuing education courses that help vets keep up to date with the latest advances in the veterinary field.

The Association rewards practices that offer high standards of patient care, safety, practice facilities and premises with the B.S.A.V.A. Practice Standards Scheme.

Any practice wishing to gain this accolade has to apply to the association to be assessed. Trained inspectors then visit the practice with a strict set of guidelines that the practice must attain before a certificate can be awarded.

What does the assessment entail?

The B.S.A.V.A. inspectors examine the practice in detail to ensure that the practice is safe, clean and that it provides a pleasant environment for your pet's care. The questionnaire demands a good standard of consulting and surgical facilities.

The assessment also involves inspection of all safety procedures at the practice including the storage and dispensing of medicines, practice laboratory techniques, sterilising facilities, x-ray equipment and anaesthetic machines.

To reach the standard, all veterinary staff must undergo further training during the year to keep up to date with advances in the veterinary field.

What does this mean for you, the client, and your pet? At the last count, our practice was one of only 60 in the country and only three in Hampshire that have attained the required standard. This means that you can be confident that your pet is being treated by staff who are up to date in their field, with excellent facilities at their disposal in a safe, caring environment.
Special Interests. At the Practice we can do most orthopaedics, ophthalmology, cardiology and other major surgery, we have an interest in all medical and surgical conditions.
